Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke is fast emerging as one of the hottest transfer properties in Europe.

The Daily Mail says AS Roma are hoping to convince Aston Villa to sell Benteke this summer.

Villa boss Tim Sherwood has described the Belgium international as the best striker in Europe on current form and there is no shortage of interest.

Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and City have all discussed the merits of the 24-year-old but Villa hope the prospect of playing regularly for them can keep him at the club for at least one more season.
