The Daily Mail says Eto'o is on standby to complete a shock move to Liverpool.
AC Milan forward Mario Balotelli arrived on Merseyside to try to complete a £16million move to Anfield but, if the deal collapses, he will be replaced by the Cameroon striker.
The former Chelsea striker had a Liverpool medical in Paris on Friday.
