Essien wants to stay at Chelsea for life

Michael Essien has revealed his desire to stay at Chelsea until the end of his career.

The Ghanaian midfielder moved to Stamford Bridge from Lyon in August 2005 and has established himself as a key member of the side.

He recently demonstrated his commitment to the club by signing a new four-year contract but he has no plans to leave when that deal expires.

"I'd be very happy if I could play for Chelsea until I stop. It is a great club and I've really settled here," he told The Sun.

"It was always a dream of mine since I was a young boy to play in England.

"Chelsea have helped with that dream and I am glad that I can give something back to the club. It would be good to stay for a long time."
