RCD Espanyol have confirmed that Cristhian Stuani has signed a new deal with the club.
The 28-year old Uruguayan striker has surprisingly penned a contract which will see him remain at the Estadi Cornelia-El Prat (Power8 Stadium) until the summer of 2018.
Stuani, who permanently joined the Periquitos from Italian club Reggina in 2013 after an initial loan, was believed to be close to joining Mexican club Tigres UANL just over a month ago but has committed himself to the Catalan outfit.
Since arriving at Espanyol, the 18-time Uruguay international has scored 26 goals in 103 appearances in all competitions.
