Espanyol president Daniel Sanchez Llibre has handed coach Tintin Marquez a vote of confidence.

Espanyol are just three points away from the dropzone after a dismal run of results.

But Sanchez Llibre emerged from a meeting with sports director Paco Herrera yesterday to say: "I guarantee that he will continue, because we have every confidence in the coach.

"He's a choice we made in the summer and we will not change it now. It is true that the last few games have not gone well, but we do not believe in any kind of replacement."
