Sporting Gijon are set to be bought by an English consortium.
AS says Sporting's major shareholder Javier Fernandez will receive €5.1 million for the sale.
"We signed a pre-agreement today with an English group and we now enter a process of legalities. This exercise will last a week, maybe two and at the end it's hoped we can seal a definitive deal," explained Fernández at the club's training center in Marcelo.
The vice-president and majority shareholder were keen to point out that: "there is no confirmation at the moment, that is to say, the club has not been sold yet".
