Gareth Southgate has made it clear that he is not perturbed by suggestions that Harry Kane may be suffering from burnout.
The Tottenham striker has scored just once in his past seven Premier League outings prompting calls from sections of the media that he is exhausted from a long season.
But upon selecting the 30-goal striker in his squad for the UEFA European U21 Championships, Southgate disagrees.
"Whenever we're dealing with the younger players, we have to manage their load in training and we'll give them some additional time," he said.
"We have to be sensible with them. It's more important with the younger players as they're still maturing physically but Harry's physically in a very good condition and that's been noticeable. The work that he's done this year with Spurs, he's shown his strength and that's noticeable."
