England U21 manager Stuart Pearce sees plenty of similarities between Arsenal pair Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott.
New kid on the block Oxlade-Chamberlain is a regular under Pearce for the Young Lions, just as Walcott was, and he can see a similar path taken by the 18-year old winger, who like Walcott joined the Gunners from Southampton.
"If you roll the clock back it was probably a similar situation with Theo," said Pearce.
"When he was playing regularly for the Under 21s he was not playing a lot for Arsenal.
"At the moment Alex is in a similar position.
"Every 90 minutes he can get, whether it be international or club football, will benefit him greatly.
"I think he will get better and better the more games he plays."
