England relationship will benefit Stones, Barkley - Everton's Martinez

Roberto Martinez is confident that Everton's strong relationship with the England national team will greatly benefit two of his young guns.

20-year old defender John Stones has recently been a part of the England roster while 20-year old midfielder Ross Barkley was called up by Roy Hodgson for the upcoming Euro2016 qualifier against Slovenia and friendly with Scotland.

Toffees boss Martinez touched on his club's strong ties with the England team and feels that the youthful pair will only improve by being a part of the national setup.

"We have a great relationship with England and Roy Hodgson," said Martinez ahead of Sunday's trip to Sunderland.

"I think it is important we have that understanding of where the players are and what they need.

"All our players are just so proud to represent their country. We have some young players who need help and support, and the understanding of what they require at this stage of their career.

"You look at John Stones and Ross Barkley and I always said they have the potential to be the best in their positions, but they are still very young and they need guidance and support.

"I'm sure our relationship with England will be very positive for all parties."

Also in Hodgson's England squad for the November 15 and 18 fixtures is Everton captain Phil Jagielka and star left-back Leighton Baines.
