Stoke City and England legend Gordon Banks is a big fan of Thomas Sorensen.
The 1966 World Cup winner has been impressed with the Denmark international, who kept 11 Premier League clean sheets after his free transfer from Aston Villa last summer.
"He is a very good goalkeeper. Very sound and solid with good reflexes. He's very agile and will also come out for the balls you feel your goalkeeper should be going for," Banks told The Sentinel. "For me, we don't need to go out and buy a goalkeeper."
Any mistakes from Sorensen have been highlighted, such as conceding from a long-range Cristiano Ronaldo free-kick early on at Old Trafford. But Banks says the 32-year-old's overall performances have been excellent.
He added: "People have to remember it's more difficult in goal these days. That's because the balls move about more, so I don't think we should be too quick to criticise.
"I think Sorensen has been as good as any in the league."
