Argentine striker Maxi Lopez has revealed interest from English clubs.
The former Barcelona and River Plate man is currently on loan to Gremio from FC Moscow and said he would have joined an English club in January if the Russian club did not interfere with negotiations.
"The Brazilian market was the only one that was open, the negotiations with the Russians were really hard because they waited until the last moment for another opportunity," he told Ole.
"I received proposals from England, France and Italy but the Russians spoiled the negotiations.
"I came to Brazil, it was for being more in touch with South American football. I want Maradona to see me.
"It is obvious that I didn't have the same performances in Europe that I did in Argentina. I want to perform well here and in the Copa Libertadores, and then I could have the chance to return to Europe.
"I would like to repeat at Gremio what I did at River."
