England manager Gareth Southgate has poured cold water on Reece James' hope of a Euro 2024 spot.
The Chelsea club captain is working his way to full fitness in the hopes of making the Three Lions squad for the summer tournament.
However, Southgate hinted that he would only take James if he believes the defender can play in every game for his side.
“Could he play seven games in the Euros? His record over the last few years would suggest no," Southgate stated this weekend.
“But is he a top-level player who could provide something important? No question.
“So yeah again he is another one who the first step is get back into training, get back into the team and build that physical resistance as quickly as you can."
