Tottenham winger David Bentley is on the outer in England manager Fabio Capello's setup.
A Soho Square source told the News of the World: "Bentley ought to have been the answer to who replaces David Beckham and Capello was expecting big things. But it seemed Bentley was just happy to be along for the ride.
"He seemed to think he'd made it just by pulling the tracksuit on.
"He befriended Jimmy Bullard when they were both called up for the matches against Andorra and Croatia and they saw themselves as the jokers.
"It didn't impress the other players and it became obvious Capello wasn't falling over himself to give them another chance.
"Now Theo Walcott has emerged it doesn't seem there's much chance of Bentley getting his place back."
