Southampton boss Ronald Koeman is taking a big gamble signing Werder Bremen winger Eljero Elia.

The former FC Twente star has been compared to Liverpool bad-boy Mario Balotelli after a string of off field incidents.

During his time in Holland, Elia crashed his red Bentley and then posed for pictures by the wreckage of the car, reports the Daily Star.

He had another car confiscated by German police after being caught speeding at 3am and only last week told a Bremen fan to 'f**k off 'on Facebook.
