'Electric' spell proved the winner for Villa

Aston Villa produced a burst of four goals in 13 minutes at the beginning of the second half to come from behind and record a 5-2 win over Burnley on Sunday.

Martin O'Neill's side went behind in the 10th minute when Steven Fletcher put the Clarets in front before Ashley Young provided a leveller just after the half-hour mark but it was the period of play ten minutes after the re-start that won the match for Villa.

Two goals to Stewart Downing (56th and 58th minutes) and one each to Emile Heskey (61st) and Gabriel Agbonlahor (68th) did the damage for Villa - a part of the match that O'Neill described as 'electric'.

"We started slowly. We didn't get into gear in the first half and were sluggish," he said.

"But, in a game where expectations were high for us to win it, to come from behind was very pleasing.

"There was relief with the equaliser when Downing scored a great second goal and then we had a spell where we were electric.

"In that spell, the movement was terrific and we also had the ability to finish moves off - which has not been our strongest point."
