EL TRI ON THE EDGE: Herbert to make changes to NZ line-up for crucial Mexico clash

Ricki Herbert will make five changes to his New Zealand starting XI for Wednesday night's all-important World Cup playoff against Mexico in Wellington according to reports.

The All Whites were beaten 5-1 in Mexico City last week prompting Herbert to make a number of alterations to the line-up that started at the Azteca Stadium.

Glen Moss will retain his position as goalkeeper after being under plenty of pressure last week while Andrew Durante and Tommy Smith will stay in defence, with the latter moving from left-back to centre-back.

Marseille youngster Bill Tuiloma will slot into left-back for just his second international while Central Coast Mariners youngster Storm Roux will debut at right-back.

In midfield, first leg scorer Chris James will step in for Tony Lochhead to partner Michael McGlinchey in the hope of feeding the attack-laden front line which will consist of Marco Rojas (replacing Jeremy Christie), Shane Smeltz (replacing Chris Wood), Kosta Barbarouses and Jeremy Brockie.
