According to Sky Sports, Eibar defender Florian Lejeune will undergo a medical at Newcastle United on Monday.

The French centre-back, who signed for the La Liga club from Manchester City last summer, will move to the Magpies after a fee of £8.7m was agreed upon by the two clubs.

Discussions have been slow over the past few weeks, with disagreements over the structure of the fee playing a part in the delay.

The 26-year old will become Rafa Benitez's second signing of the summer after Chelsea winger Christian Atsu signed last month.
