Edwards key as Spurs seek deal for Sporting CP fullback Porro

Tottenham chief Fabio Paratici is ready to launch a bid for Sporting CP fullback Pedro Porro.

CM Journal says Tottenham are 'determined' to sign the former Manchester City man and the report claims they have devised a plan to enhance their position in negotiations with Sporting.

When academy graduate Marcus Edwards made the move to Portuguese side Vitoria in 2019, Spurs negotiated a 50 per cent sell-on clause into his contract upon future moves and were able to transfer the clause to his new deal.

It is now thought that Tottenham will drop the clause and hope such a move tempts Sporting into parting ways with Porro.

The Spaniard is, also, represented by CAA Base, a major agency with close links to Tottenham. He has provided nine assists during a, somewhat underwhelming, campaign for Ruben Amorim's side as they currently sit fourth in the Primeira Liga.
