Easy decision for Spencer to again appoint Jewsbury as Portland Timbers captain

Portland Timbers head coach John Spencer has again appointed Jack Jewsbury as the club's new captain.

The 30-year old midfielder led the club in their first MLS campaign last season and will again take the captain's armband with the blessing of Spencer.

"I don't think there is a decision to be made," Spencer said. "Jack Jewsbury, as long as I'm here, will captain the Portland Timbers.

"He's been a great leader. He's not a 'rah-rah' type of guy. He's a guy who goes and speaks quietly. He has a lot of experience."
