Duvan Zapata says Atalanta deserve their success this past season.

La Dea qualified for the Champions League for the third year running and reached the Coppa Italia Final for the second time in three seasons, losing 2-1 to Juventus.

“It was a fantastic season, we got good results and confirmed that we are a team who play good football," Duvan Zapata said to the official club website.

“Many people say we don't deserve to be where we are, but we do our talking on the field and leave the others to say what they want outside the pitch. We had to face many difficulties this season, which made it tougher from the start of the year.

“The goal I remember most fondly is certainly the one against Udinese. It might not be the best goal of my career, but the way the whole team move came together made it special.

“I can't wait for the fans to get back into the stands, as that's what made the Coppa Italia Final more enjoyable, even if we didn't win, so we were happy regardless."
