Duran to trial with Philadelphia Union after Seattle Sounders release

Andrew Duran has revealed that he is likely to go on trial with Philadelphia Union.

The 23-year old defender was waived by the Seattle Sounders last week but could continue chasing his dream if the Union were to show interest.

Duran, who was Seattle's top pick in the 2012 MLS SuperDraft, served as a guest player for the Sounders reserves on Tuesday night as they beat San Jose Earthquakes 2-1 but indicated he would be leaving the club on good terms after injuring his anterior cruciate ligament last year.

"It's just the way the game goes," Duran told the Seattle Times.

"You hit (bumps) here and there. I had a point like this in college where I was at a low point, and you just roll with the punches. Everybody gets injured, and that ends a lot of careers. I just come back really well from ACLs; a lot of people don't. (Chicago Bulls point guard) Derrick Rose didn't play for a year. It's just how you take it.

"People could be out with one injury. I just have happened to play through them all, and I just roll with the punches."

On his future, Duran added: "Right now it's tentative. I might go to Philly on trial. So that or wherever it takes me. I'm just chasing the dream."
