Dundee Utd ace Armstrong on Southampton, Burnley radar

Dundee United young gun Stuart Armstrong is a target for a number of clubs in England according to reports.

Sky Sports is of the belief that Premier League and Championship clubs are tracking the 22-year old midfielder who has emerged as a star at Tannadice in the past year or so.

Scotland U21 captain Armstrong is a target for top flight outfits Southampton and Burnley while tier two side Wigan Athletic is also showing interest.

Armstrong had a stellar 2013/14 season for the Terrors as he was named in the PFA Scotland Team of the Year and was nominated for the Young Player of the Year which was taken out by former teammate Andrew Robertson who joined Hull City this summer.

Armstrong made his debut for United in 2010 and has gone on to make 127 appearances for the Tayside club.
