Dundee United captain Lee Wilkie has signed a new contract keeping him at Tannadice until May 2012. The defender, 28, had been linked with a move to Rangers.
A statement on the club's official website, read: "Dundee United today confirmed that club captain Lee Wilkie had signed a three year extension to his current contract, securing him to the club until May 2012.
"Lee has now played over 80 games since joining Dundee United and is a hugely influential and important player for the club.
"His commitment to Dundee United for a further three years is another positive move for the club.
"Discussions with other out of contract players continue and it is hoped that further announcements might be made next week."
