Republic of Ireland midfielder Willo Flood impressed while on loan to Dundee United from Championship side Cardiff City last season, and now the Terrors want to give the former Manchester City player a permanent contract at Tannadice.
Manager Craig Levein is hoping to have Flood in his squad as a United player in time for the start of next season - and Flood himself appears to be keen to return to Tayside.
Setanta Sports report that the player's immediate future could be resolved early in July, although Levein told the Daily Record there is still much uncertainty regarding a possible deal.
"We have been working away and it's something I would like to do but at this stage I can't say it's definitely going to happen," revealed Levein.
