Dundee United have managed to ward off overtures from Celtic for striker Johnny Russell.

The 21-year old Scotland youth international has recently attracted interest from clubs in England as well as Celtic, who reportedly offered around £500,000, which was turned down by the Tangerines.

Russell, who has 18 months remaining on his contract, is a product of the club's academy and United are desperate to keep him at Tannadice Park.
