Dundee United keen to hold onto Fulham's Dalla Valle

Dundee United boss Peter Houston would like to extend the loan of Fulham youngster Lauri Dalla Valle.

The 20-year old Finnish striker has impressed during his spell at Tannadice with three goals in five starts (11 appearances in total) but is due to head back to Craven Cottage on January 16.

However, Houston would like to retain the Finland U21 international until the end of the current campaign.

"I haven't spoken to the boy or Fulham. I'd like to keep him to the end of the season," said Houston.

"He's got a great attitude, he's a wee bit unfortunate that (Jon) Daly and (Johnny) Russell are starting to score goals, so he's not getting a starting position just now.

"I find it difficult to change guys that are scoring goals and he's not really had a wee sniff.

"I still like him enough that I'd keep him until the end of the season."
