Newcastle United defender Paul Dummett has revealed that interim manager John Carver has earned the respect of the players.
Carver's tenure as manager of Newcastle has been nothing short of a disaster as the 50-year old was able to guide the Magpies to only three wins in the 20 games he was in charge of the club.
The spell with the North East outfit has hit Carver's reputation hard and it is widely expected that the former assistant will be shown the door by the Newcastle hierarchy this summer.
However, Carver has managed to earn the respect of the Newcastle players according to Dummett.
Dummett told the Chronicle: "He is a good coach and has been around the game for many years. All the players respect him and he is doing the best he can with the players he's got.
"We have had a lot of injuries and he's had a tough job with the players we have."
