Former Chelsea defender Jim Duffy can't believe Manchester United and Liverpool aren't part of the race for Rangers striker Kris Boyd.
In his column for the Scottish Sun, Duffy wrote: "He's a better finisher than Wayne Rooney.
"He could keep Rafa Benitez in an job. Quite why Manchester United and Liverpool are not fighting it out to sign Kris Boyd astonishes me.
"I know there are people out there who will scoff at the mere suggestion Boyd could hack it at Old Trafford or Anfield.
"For me both clubs are crying out for someone like the Rangers No9 and I'm staggered they haven't thought about it. Aston Villa and Birmingham are the two Premiership clubs battling it out for his signature.
"With those options in front of him there is only one place he should go in my book - and that's Villa Park."
