Stewart Downing says rapidly improving Middlesbrough will receive a further boost with the return from injury of Egypt striker Mido.

"It's good to have Mido back and all the strikers offer different things," said the 23-year-old. "We've got four or five up front, competition is good and that's what we need.

"Mido is working hard and getting fit and he knows what we think of him as a player.

"He is a good player when he is fit, so if we can get him back and firing and getting goals it will look good for us."
