Douglas thrilled with Barcelona opportunity

Douglas is excited to be part of Barcelona's squad this season.

The former Sao Paulo fullback made the move over the summer.

Douglas said: "I started as a striker. I played eight months there.

"At the football school I moved into midfield and played there until I was 17 years old. One day the coach had an injury at left back and he played me there. I ended up being the starting left back and was moved up to the Goiás first team. At São Paolo I played in midfield, always changing my position, but full back is where I want to find my place in world football and where I most like to play.

"You learn a bit from everybody. Dani Alves is the most skilled. Cafú is like a champion athlete and you could see that when was captain of Brazil. Everybody gives you good examples to follow. You have to learn from all of them and improve and even more so here. I am looking for my place at Barcelona . I am here to win titles and make the crowd happy."
