Donovan and Keane the stars as LA Galaxy ease past Chivas USA

Landon Donovan and Robbie Keane were the main men as the LA Galaxy stretched their unbeaten run to four games courtesy of a 3-1 home win over rivals Chivas USA.

The SuperClasico saw Galaxy skipper Donovan score twice - to make it seven goals in his last eight outings - and Keane net his sixth in seven to see the reigning MLS champions remain fifth in the Western Conference.

Donovan was full of praise for the performance of Keane who has been in top form since returning from his Republic of Ireland duties at Euro2012.

"He's been fantastic," Donovan said. "He's creating chances for himself, he's creating chances for others, his passing's good, his movement's good, and also, probably underrated, he's been working hard defensively and helping us in that way.

"When he does all that, we're pretty hard to beat."

And Keane suggests that his form has simply coincided with the fact that the Galaxy have picked up their overall performances in the last six weeks.

"That's not what it's about, it's about the team," said Keane when he was asked about his own form.

"We weren't good enough before the European Championship, simple as that. It was always going to come around that we're going to pick things up and start getting results, and that's been the case."
