Tottenham are closing a deal for Cologne central defender Kevin Wimmer.

The People says paperwork on the deal was completed last week and the 23-year-old Austria international will become a Spurs player on June 1.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino was even hoping to take Wimmer on the Londoners' end of season trip to play friendlies in Malaysia and Australia, but it's now unlikely that will happen.

He will joined Spurs for £4.25 million.
