Newcastle have captured their first signing for next season's return to the Premier League.

The Sun reports Chelsea winger Christian Atsu, who spent last campaign on loan at St James' Park, has impressed Rafa Benitez enough for the Spaniard to trigger a £6.2million option to buy clause in his contract.

Atsu played an integral part in the Magpies Championship winning season, scoring 5 goals in 35 appearances.

The Ghanaian winger has not featured once for Chelsea since moving to the club from Porto in 2013.
