Newcastle United defender Matt Bondswell has joined Shrewsbury Town for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.
The Nottingham-born left-back, who joined the Magpies in March 2021 following his departure from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig, made his Newcastle first-team debut during United's pre-season victory over Doncaster Rovers in July and will link up with Steve Cotterill's side until the end of the current season.
The youngster, who has represented England at under-18 level, began his playing career at hometown club Nottingham Forest, spending eight years at the Tricky Trees' youth set-up.
After relocating to Germany in the summer of 2018 to join Leipzig, Bondswell made his professional debut at the age of 18 whilst on loan at Dutch club FC Dordrecht.
