Chelsea have confirmed they have sent young winger Cristian Cuevas out on loan.

The 20-year-old Chilean has joined Belgian Pro League club Sint-Truidense VV on a season-long loan in a bid to further his development in a first team environment.

Cuevas joined the Blues from O'Higgins in 2013 and has since enjoyed loan spells with Dutch clubs Vitesse Arnhem and FC Eindhoven as well as a short stint back home in Chile with Universidad last season.

The Chile U20 international will link up with fellow Blues Victorien Angban and Joao Rodriguez at Sint-Truiden who won the Belgian second division title last season.
