Brighton have completed the signing of Jacob Slater from Preston North End.

Slater, 18, has penned a three-year contract and will initially be registered with the U21s.

Brighton U21 coach Shannon Ruth said, "He's a talented young left-back who we've been aware of for quite a while now. We're excited by the impact he can make in our under-21s squad, he is certainly someone who suits our style of play and our environment.

“He's had some really good experience with the first team at Preston and we are looking forward to helping him continue his development and reach his full potential, we're delighted to welcome him."
