Chelsea striker Fernando Torres is returning to Atletico Madrid.AS reports Torres is on his way back to Atlético after director Miguel Ángel Gil Marín reached an agreement with Chelsea and AC Milan on Christmas Eve.

He will join on an 18 month loan.

Torres will join Diego Simeone's squad next week. Alessio Cerci meanwhile will go in the opposite direction - joining AC Milan for this weekend's friendly against Real Madrid in Dubai.

Torres returns on the express wishes of Simeone who put in a request to sign the player last summer but Gil Marín was unable to carry the operation through.
