Aston Villa forward Bertrand Traore has joined La Liga club Villarreal on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old arrived in September 2020 from Lyon for a sizeable fee, but failed to make the grade.
Poor form and injury issues meant that he was always on the periphery of a regular spot.
The Burkina Faso captain agreed to cancel the remainder of his deal, which also appealed to Villa.
Spanish reports have suggested that he may be close to signing for Villarreal.
Villa's 20-year-old midfielder Tommi O'Reilly and 18-year-old defender Josh Feeney have also moved this winter.
They have surprisingly signed for manager Unai Emery's part-owned club Real Union.
