Tottenham have suffered an injury blow after Matt Doherty withdrew from Republic of Ireland duty.

After playing 90 minutes in the loss to Serbia, the 29-year-old was once again involved on Saturday in the embarrassing 1-0 defeat at home to Luxembourg.

But Doherty was only able to complete the first-half of action after suffering an injury.

He will now miss the friendly with Qatar on Tuesday evening.

The FAI have confirmed Doherty has left the squad due to injury but did not specify what type of injury was sustained.
