Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists he enjoys the physical side of the Premier League.
In the past, Wenger has been an outspoken critic of what he claimed were aggressive tactics deployed by Stoke City and Bolton Wanderers.
"It is a strength of the English game," said Wenger. "As long as the intention is fair from the player who goes into the challenge, that is the most important thing.
"Sometimes I watch foreign games and after 20 minutes you're bored because every time somebody goes down it's a foul, and you say: 'Come on, that's not football'. We do not want to lose the strengths and what makes English football attractive."
