Arsenal legend Lee Dixon believes that the Gunners require at least three more signings to challenge the likes of Chelsea and Manchester City for the title.
The former right-back wants the club to buy a striker, a defender and a world-class goalkeeper so they can launch a genuine assault on the Premier League crown.
He told the Daily Mirror: "I think there's a couple of positions they still need to strengthen.
"I don't think you win the league with [Olivier] Giroud as your main striker on his own. He needs help.
"I'm a big fan of his but he needs another signing alongside him. [Danny] Welbeck is a good player but they need a bit of help in that position.
"They also need another holding player to help [Francis] Coquelin [and] maybe a world class goalkeeper, most teams who win the league have got one."
