Did Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson convince Owen Coyle to reject Celtic last year?

In the summer, Burnley made it clear they would refuse permission to talk if Celtic made an approach for their manager Coyle.

Now with Bolton Wanderers, Coyle yesterday revealed: "I think I was in Florida when Sir Alex rang over the Celtic thing and we had a good chat."

When pushed, he said: "Let's just leave it at that."
