Schalke coach Roberto di Matteo has reaffirmed their interest in Manchester City defender Matija Nastasic.

Schalke had hoped to close a deal for the Serb last week.

"It's true Nastasic is someone we want, but we are not alone," said Di Matteo.

"He is an interesting player, very talented and despite his young age already has great experience."

Along with Schalke, Roberto Mancini's Inter Milan are also keen.
