Roberto di Matteo is in talks with Reading.
The London Evening Standard says Di Matteo has been approached by Reading to become their new manager, it was reported.
The Italian has been out of the game since he was sacked by Chelsea in November and the Reading Post claims the Royals are interested in him as a successor to Brian McDermott, who was axed yesterday.
Reading are said to be ready to offer a deal until 2015 but it remains to be seen whether the Italian would be willing to join a club who could be in the Championship next season, given that it is only 10 months since he led Chelsea to their first Champions League title.
