Chelsea boss Roberto di Matteo insists his veteran players still have plenty to offer.
The likes of Frank Lampard, John Terry and Ashley Cole are all on the wrong side of 30.
But Di Matteo says: "If you haven't suffered big injuries and you train well and live well then players can go on in the late 30s. We have seen plenty of examples.
"There was Paolo Maldini and Gianfranco Zola, who was also over here, and it has not just been in Italy - there are good examples of players that have played in their late 30s in the Premier League as well such as Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs."
