Italian transfer expert Gianluca di Marzio insists Paolo Maldini will leave AC Milan should Ralf Rangnick arrive.

Former Hoffenheim coach Rangnick is in advanced talks to move to the Rossonero.

Di Marzio told Sky Italia: “A final decision hasn't been made, but if the owners decide to go with Rangnick, I don't see how the two can collaborate together, beyond the declarations that Rangnick is making and that Maldini wanted to stop with his words.

“If the pact sanctioned in December will be maintained in the end, and Rangnick will become the Milan manager, how will he be able to work with Maldini?"
