Swindon boss Paolo Di Canio slammed his players after they slumped to their fourth league defeat, going down 2-1 to Shrewsbury. "Even when we were 1-0 up in the first half I was not happy," said Di Canio.
"We lost and I told the players that had the rules allowed me to do so I would have changed at least seven of them. We played very bad and without desire."
The Swindon boss pointed a second half incident when Shrewsbury striker Marvin Morgan was allowed to gallop almost the full length of the field without challenge and still manage to get in a cross.
"I wasn't happy with some of my players in the first half but in the second half we were even worse. This is not the group of professionals that I want to see on the field."
Swindon beat Championship side Bristol City in the Carling Cup in midweek and Di Canio said: "I know it is difficult for players to switch on every three days, especially for a new team, but you have to be capable of showing some heart."
