DeVere named Brisbane Roar Player of the Year

Luke DeVere stole the show at Brisbane Roar's awards night on the weekend, taking out three awards.

The 20-year old defender scooped the Gary Wilkins Medal as Brisbane's Player of the Year along with two other prizes - the Players' Player of the Year and Brisbane Roar Foundation Members Player of the Year.

DeVere won the Gary Wilkins Medal by three votes to former skipper Craig Moore with teenage ace Tommy Oar close in third.

He was delighted to win the award although he was also humbled by it.

"I'm very honoured to be accepting this award," DeVere said. "I think had other players still been at the club I may not be standing here, but I feel extremely privileged to be doing so."
