Derby County midfielder Robbie Savage says Rafa Benitez should leave Liverpool this summer.

British football icon Savage wrote in his column for the Mirror: "Unless someone persuades Rafa Benitez that a new owner will come in fast and hand him the money to buy six world-class players, I think he should quit Liverpool for Juventus.

"Despite this season's problems, Reds fans will always remember Benitez with fondness for that night in Istanbul and he can walk away with his head high. This disappointing campaign hasn't been all his fault.

"If Rafa stays with no new investment in sight, the outlook is bleak. He's got to persuade Torres and Gerrard not to walk, got to get back in the Champions League places, got to find some young players who can come through at Melwood and challenge for the first team.

"As things stand, I can't see Liverpool mounting a serious title challenge for five years."
