Derby County boss Billy Davies hopes a £5.5 million bid will be enough to land Southampton striker Kenwyne Jones.
Davies is close to completing a deal for Southampton striker Jones in the next 48 hours after making an improved offer which will beat the previous record of £3.5m for Robert Earnshaw.
